Eritrean Government: "Marry two wives or Get jail sentence"

This is by fire by force, there is no escape from it unless you want to go to jailed. But you have to pity them as there is a cry of shortage of men in Eritrea which they say was occasioned by the civil war in Ethiopia. By this, the government has issue an order for Eritrean men to marry more than one wife or risk being jailed for life.

This is contained in a statement in Arabic by the Grand Mufti (the highest official of religious law in the country) which scanned copy surfaced on social media sites on Thursday last week.

Tompolo faces 22 fresh charges filed as 25 witnesses agree to testify

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has filed fresh 22 charges and lined up 25 witnesses to testify against former Niger Delta militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo.

The charges against Tompolo and 12 others- bordered on stealing, advanced fee fraud and money laundering to the tune of N22,765,900,000- were filed on Friday at a Federal High Court in Lagos.

They are being charged for fraudulently converting over N22.7bn, stolen from NIMASA, to their personal use between December 12, 2014 and April 10, 2015.

MTN and other company fined over $160 million for tax evasion

Various report from media suggest that the local units of MTN and Orange in Cameroon have been fined over $160 million for failure to pay taxes on games and gambling services.

According to the Central African nation’s corruption board, a wide reaching probe into the sector led to fines totaling $283 million. Other companies such as Camtel and Viettel, were also found to have violated regulations.
