Photo: Armed Robbers Dig Massive Tunnel to gain entrance Into Banking Hall In Ondo

The Nigerian Police, Akure Command has foiled an attempt by arm robbers to use new technique to rob a bank in Akure, Ondo State. The operatives of the state police command discovered a very massive tunnel leading to the banking hall of one of the commercial bank in the State capital.

The tunnel was reportedly dug from the fence of the bank, leading directly into the banking hall to make them enter the banking hall with much ease.

It was learnt that the tunnel could take up to three persons at a time as the back of the fence is an isolated area which would have made the suspects operated unhindered for hours.

John Imonitie, a 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged before Ebute Metta Magistrates’ court for allegedly engaging in unlawful sex with 19-year old teenager inside his SUV in Lekki, Lagos State.

Reports say Imonitie, allegedly lured the victim, (name withheld) to a popular restaurant in Lekki and thereafter had sex with her without her consent inside his SUV.

The incident happened within the premises of Vantage Restaurant in Lekki at about 9.00 pm where both the victim and suspect met.

Nigeria Troops Kill 30 Boko Haram Members, Rescue 338 Captives In Sambisa

Troops of 28 Task Force Brigade Nigerian Army deployed at Bitta and Pridang yesterday October 27th, carried out a successful raid on suspected Boko Haram terrorists camps at Bulajilin and Manawashe villages along Bita and Damboa road at the fringes of Sambisa forest. The troops were able to kill 30 Boko Haram terrorists. 

The unit also rescued 338 persons that were held captive by the terrorists in the enclaves. A statement by the Nigeria Army spokesperson, said the rescued persons which comprised of 8 male, 138 female and 192 children have since been evacuated to Mubi.

Governor Wike: "Judicial Gang-Up Against Me Will Fail"

Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, has described the nullification of his election by the Election Petition Tribunal as a gang up against him and the people of the state arguing that the judiciary was setting a dangerous precedent in the country with the way it had gone about elections in the oil-rich state.

The Tribunal on Saturday nullified Wike’s election as governor and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct fresh rerun elections in the state within 90 days.
