Cultist narrates how he Killed rival to avenge his brother’s death

A self-acclaimed member of Eiye confraternity yesterday narrate how he murdered one of his rivals during a birthday party held in Mushin area of Lagos last week.

The culprit who was arrested alongside the 22-year-old suspect was his alleged accomplice. The deceased, a commercial motorcyclist, identified as Sura Abiola Lateef, was reportedly attacked along with his friend, when they stepped out to buy sachet water.

While his friend, identified as Rilwan, was said to have managed to escape with a deep cut in the neck, same could not be said of Lateef, who was stabbed in different parts of his body and abandoned in the pool of his blood and he bled to death.

The Kano state Hisba Board on Tuesday, October 27, said it made all necessary preparations for the mass wedding of another batch of 2,000 widows and divorcees in the state. 

The director-general of the board, Dr Abba Sufi, said the preparations followed recent directive by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to start arrangement for the wedding of another batch of 2,000 couples, the News Agency of Nigeria in Kano reports.

Governor Wike: "Judicial Gang-Up Against Me Will Fail"

Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, has described the nullification of his election by the Election Petition Tribunal as a gang up against him and the people of the state arguing that the judiciary was setting a dangerous precedent in the country with the way it had gone about elections in the oil-rich state.

The Tribunal on Saturday nullified Wike’s election as governor and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct fresh rerun elections in the state within 90 days.
