Guess what this time, Kylie Jenner’s newly released app has officially surpassed Kim’s and has rocketed to the top of the iTunes sales charts.

Kylie Jenner’s app rose to #1 on the iTunes sales chart just one day after she and the rest of her sisters launched their own personalized apps. Unfortunately for Kim Kardashian, her app just couldn’t compete with her baby sister’s.

September 24 declares as Sallah day - Sultanate Council


The Sultanate Council has declared Thursday September 24th as Sallah Day. A statement issued by the Jamatu Nasril Islam (JNI) Secretary General, Dr Khalid Aliyu, in Kaduna today also declared Tuesday, September 15 as the first day of the Muslim month of Dhul-Hajj.

North Korea Warns Nigeria Over Circulation of The Interview Movie


The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) said Monday that the North Korean Mission in Nigeria had made a formal complaint to it over the illegal distribution of a film which the mission regarded as provocative.

This is contained in a statement issued by the head of Corporate Affairs of NFVCB, Mike Ekunno.

The statement said that the North Korean mission viewed the movie as not only provocative but also targeted at instigating the assassination of the North Korean Supreme Leader, Kim Jong-un.

A 2014 American political satire film, The Interview, directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg had generated controversy across the world for depicting the assassination of the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un.

Ministerial Screening: Fashola, Amaechi and Fayemi allegedly fail screening


The Department of State Service, has reportedly concluded the screening of the ministerial nominees of President Muhammadu Buhari.

While Femi Falana, Pat Utomi and several others have been purportedly screened, a report by Nigerian Pilot insinuated that three former governors failed their screening.

The former governors; Babatunde Fashola (Lagos), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), are all believed to have close ties with President Muhammadu Buhari, having actively campaigned for him during the election.

Obasanjo claims to have left N287bn Abacha loot in the treasury


Former President Olusegun Obasanjo said he left behind over N287bn loot recovered from late Head of state, Gen. Sani Abacha.

Obasanjo says he left in the national treasury the money, which is broken down as; $2bn, £100m and N10bn in cash and property.

He said the funds were paid into the treasury through the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Based on the present exchange rate, the money would be higher than N287bn, but the exchange rate in 2007 was N125.88 to a dollar and N247.99 to a pound.

Amaechi accused of withdrawing N55bn from Rivers State treasury in 1 year


Former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi has been dragged into a fresh scandal. He is alleged to have drained Rivers state reserves from N55 billion to N1.24 billion within the time frame of a single year.

Out of the amount allegedly withdrawn by Amaechi, N53.93 billion was said to be without a list of expenditure. Budgit, a civic startup that disseminates budgets and public data, made the revelation on Sunday, via its Twitter handle.


Budgit stated that it obtained the information from FBN trustees, while disclosing the figures.

Chibok girls are now Boko Haram insurgents - Boko Haram Returnee


Tabitha Adamu, a returnee from Boko Haram’s captivity, says the girls have become insurgents. The 21-year-old, who is one of the girls freed from the insurgent camp and handed over to the Borno State Government last week, revealed that most of the Chibok girls had been conscripted by Boko Haram.

Tabitha, who is pregnant for one of the insurgent commanders who forcibly married her, said she mingled with the girls at various times in the camp.

Tabitha said she was taken from Bayan Dutse in Gwoza Local Government Area, when the insurgents invaded her village.

Woman who donated N1m to Buhari’s campaign, is critically ill


The 90-year-old woman, Hajia Talle Maituwo who donated N1 million to the campaign of President Muhammadu Buhari, is critically ill and suffering from partial stroke.

A certain Idris Kuringafa, disclosed on his Facebook page, that she is gradually paralyzing and her speech has become incoherent.

Kuiringafa revealed that Kebbi state governor, Atiku Bagudu, had promised to fly her to Dubai for medical treatment, but so far, nothing has been done.

Bribie Island Police were left stunned recently when they pulled over a driver who had his door held shut with a piece of rope. The car was one of 11 ­defective vehicles stopped by Bribie Island police from August 18 to August 25.

Bribie Island Police ­station officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Dave Crawford-Raby said the car was pulled over on August 18 after an officer ­noticed the driver’s door moving.

World’s first head transplant procedures will be perform in 2017


30 year old Valery Spiridonov who was diagnosed with a genetic muscle-wasting condition called Werdnig-Hoffmann disease and volunteered for the surgery procedure despite the risks involved has been scheduled for 2017 and will become the world’s first head transplant patient.  
According to Central European News (CEN) report, He said “When I realized that I could participate in something really big and important, I had no doubt left in my mind and started to work in this direction,” Spiridonov, a Russian computer scientist, told CEN. “The only thing I feel is the sense of pleasant impatience, like I have been preparing for something important all my life and it is starting to happen.”

Nigeria To Experience Lunar Eclipse


A lunar eclipse is expected to be visible in Nigeria on Monday September 28, 2015 for five hours and eleven minutes.

According to a statement signed by the Deputy Director in charge of Media and Communications at the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Felix Ale, the natural occurrence will start by 1:11am and end by 6:22 am.

Bomb Blast Rocks IDPs Camp In Yola


A bomb blast reportedly hit Malkohi IDPs camp in Yola, Adamawa State capital. Sources at the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), who confirmed the explosion, said that three people were injured, but did not confirm any death.

The blast was said to have gone off at a warehouse of the camp. The police have since condoned the area.

Friday’s blast comes about three months after a bomb blast left about 32 people dead in an explosion that ripped through a busy market in Yola.

President Buhari Sacks Chairmen Of FCT Internal Revenue Service, SEB & UBEB


President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate sack of the Chairmen of FCT Internal Revenue Service, Secondary Education Board (SEB) and Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB).

The approval was contained in a letter sent to the FCT Permanent Secretary, Engineer John Obinna Chukwu, by the Secretary to the Federal Government.

Flood Displaces Over 90,000 People In Japan


More than 90,000 people have been forced to abandon their homes in Japan, as widespread flooding and landslides hit the city of Joso, north of the capital, Tokyo.

Helicopter rescue teams have been plucking people from rooftops. One person has been reported missing in the region, and at least 12 are injured. The heavy downpour came a day after a tropical storm brought winds of up to 125km/h. The hardest-hit areas have been Ibaraki and Tochigi Prefectures.

Osun State Government Promises To Pay Outstanding Wages Before September End


Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, on Tuesday assured civil servants that they will be paid their outstanding salary arrears before the end of the month.

‎Aregbesola made the disclosure while speaking at the National flag off ceremony for the distribution of FGN/UBEC plastic chairs and tables to all the states in the country, in Osogbo, the Osun state capital.

NNPC Seeks Military Collaboration To Curb Oil Theft


The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has sought more support of the Nigerian military in tackling crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism and other vices in Nigeria’s maritime environment.

At a meeting at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja, between the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Gabriel Olonisakin and Group Managing Director (GMD) of the NNPC, Dr. Emmanuel Kachikwu, the Defence Chief told the NNPC boss that the Armed Forces would interface with the Corporation to ensure that all the problems that the NNPC was facing got needed attention.

General Olonisakin noted that “already the Nigerian Navy has put up a lot of initiatives that will ensure that issues of pipeline vandalism, piracy and oil theft are addressed”.
