Reuben Abati: Goodluck is not a Drunkard


Former Spokesperson to former President Jonathan, Reuben Abati has come out to defend his former boss amidst report going around that Goodluck Jonathan was a drunkard. According to Abati, he said for all the years he worked as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the former president, he only saw him drink wine during government functions. Abati cleared the air during a recent interview with Rockcity 101.9 FM, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Radio Biafra is back, live and transmitting


Although the Federal Government had claimed to have jammed the signals of pirate station, Radio Biafra, it is believed that it has yet again, resumed transmission.

On July 14, it was announced that the FG had blocked the transmission signals of the controversial radio station, which was operating from an unknown location.

Car knock down Student involve in the "Rag Day" Celebration


There was a halt to the usual annual rag day celebrated by higher institutions in Nigeria when a moving car knock down Student who was involve in the "Rag Day" celebration

According to report, a 200-level student of Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, was killed Wednesday by a car as students marked their annual “Rag Day”.

The victim, identified as Oluwatobiloba Adeniyi, was a student of the department of Integrated and Computer Science Education in the college, located in Osiele.

Jose Mourinho Label Kelvin De Bruyne a "Crying Kid"


In the new transfer saga, Jose Mourinho said Chelsea made the right decision in selling Kevin De Bruyne as the midfielder was “crying every day he wants to leave.”

Army Chief In War Front To Mop Up Operations In Boko Haram Enclaves


Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, on Saturday led troops conducting mop up operations in areas formerly occupied by members of the Boko Haram sect in the north-east.

The operation followed the recent aerial bombardment of terrorists’ enclaves in the Borno State.

Addressing reporters after the operations, Lieutenant General Buratai said he was happy going for the mission with the troops.

Hawker Hunter Jet Crash In UK leaves Seven Death


Seven people have been killed in a Hawker Hunter jet crash during an Air show in the United Kingdom.

The jet collided with some vehicles. According to eyewitnesses, the plane was performing a loop but could not complete the maneuver when it came crashing down in a ball of flames.

According to the BBC, South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed that the victims died at the scene, while another person is critical in hospital. The number of injured stands at 14.

NYSC secures N200m bank facility as loans for corps members with business ideas


The Director general of the National Youth Service Corp NYSC, Brig -Gen. Johnson Olawumi today announced that the scheme had secured a N200 million bank facility for disbursement to corps members as loans to enable them start any business of their choice. The DG said this while receiving the Commander, Guards Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brig.-Gen. Musa Yusuf who paid him a courtesy call at the NYSC headquarters in Abuja

WAEC: "We Will Not Introduce Computer Based Test"


The West Africa Examination Council (WEAC) says it will not introduce the Computer Based Test in its examinations.

Addressing reporters on Friday in Abuja, an official of the council, Mr Charles Eguridu, said the Computer Based Test could not be used to determine the knowledge of students in certain subjects, as the councils exams are based on theory not objectives.

Car robbery suspect says he can steal any brand of vehicle



Kehinde Oluomo who is specialized in stealing motor cars was recently arrested by the Nigerian Police Force, Kwara State command said there was no type of vehicle he couldn't break into no matter the brand or how high-tech it was. He said all he needs to break into it and steal it is a piece of wire.

He confessed to having stolen six cars through this means.

The suspect, who said he was from Lagos State, explained that he started car robbery 2 years ago.
According to him, his strategy was to monitor where vehicles were parked, ensured that nobody was watching him and then he broke into the vehicle with the aid of a wire.

9 year old transgender Parent sues school for discrimination


Transgender parents claim officials in Komarek School District 94 in North Riverside discriminated against the third grader. The parents of a transgender boy file a petition against a west suburban school district, claiming their son was denied use of the boys' restroom.

The child was born female, but diagnosed with gender dysphoria and now identifies as a boy. The petition states the student was told to use a restroom for adult faculty members

Megan Fox makes divorce with Brian Austin Green official


Megan Fox has filed for divorce from Brian Austin Green. According to report earlier this week, the couple had called time on their romance after 11 years together.

Gossip site TMZ revealed that Megan has made the break-up official by filing the official papers to set the divorce in motion.

The outlet reports that Megan is asking for joint physical and legal custody of the pair's two sons Noah, two, and 18-month-old Bodhi.

A source added to the website that because Megan and Brian didn't have a pre-nuptial agreement when they wed, the earnings they have accrued during their five-year marriage will be split straight down the middle as they are classed as “community property”.

However, Megan is expected to pay some kind of spousal support to Brian, due to the difference in their incomes and also due to his reported medical issues.

While many divorces can be bitter and fraught, Megan and Brian's relationship is said to continue to be “very amicable”, and the pair are believed to still be living in the same house with their sons.

Federal Government Suspends Immigration Service Head


The Federal Government has suspended the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr David Parradang.

The suspension of Mr Parradang, which takes immediate effect, was announced on Friday.

It was contained in a statement from the Ministry of Interior, signed by the Ministry’s Director of Press, Mr Yusuf Isiaka, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon To Visit Nigeria August 23


The United Nations Secretary-General, Mr Ban Ki-moon, will visit Nigeria from August 23 to 24 and will meet with President Muhammadu Buhari and State Governors.

Talks during the meetings with the nation’s leaders would focus on “Pathways to a new Nigeria-Role of Sub-National Governments”.

Mr Ki-Moon will also lay wreath to commemorate the 4th Anniversary of the attack on the United Nation’s House, in Abuja and embark on a field visit to Kuje Area Council.

Military Arrests 2 Top Boko Haram Members in Yobe


The Nigerian Army says troops have arrested two fleeing key members of Boko Haram terrorist in Geidam, Yobe State, north-east Nigeria.

Spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Col. Sani Usman made the disclosure in a statement, adding that two pick up vehicles were also seized from the fleeing insurgents.

He said the terrorists are currently being interrogated.

Obama Appoints First Transgender White House Staff


President Barack Obama has appointed the first openly transgender White House staff member, according to an announcement made on Tuesday.

Raffi Freedman-Gurspan, a former policy adviser at the National Center for Transgender Equality, will serve as an outreach and recruitment director in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel.

Community leaders and advocates lauded the administration’s decision and called Freedman-Gurspan a role model, praising her work to empower members of the LGBT community.

Buhari Appoints Tunde Fowler as FIRS Boss


President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday appointed Dr. William Babatunde Fowler as the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

This was announced in a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Femi Adesina.

Fowler will serve as Acting Executive Chairman of FIRS until his appointment is confirmed by the Senate.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday appointed Aliyu Yahaya Gusau Director General of the Budget Office of the Federation following the exit from office of its previous boss, Dr. Bright Okogu in June 2015.

AIB Releases Names Of Lagos Chopper Crash Passengers

Chelsea FC hijack Manchester United target Pedro From Barcelona


Chelsea have signed Barcelona forward Pedro on a four-year contract, ​the club announced on Thursday.

The 28-year-old has joined the Premier League champions for a fee in the region of €30m (£21.4m), with €3m also involved in variables in the deal. The Blues held talks with Pedro earlier this week and completed the deal swiftly, despite the fact that Manchester United were attempting to sign the player.
