Nigeria Immigration Service bar some Nigerians from travelling to join ISIS, ISIL and others

The Nigeria Immigration Service said it barred no fewer than 4,916 Nigerians from travelling out of the country between January and March, 2015 and among those barred where some persons who where allegedly travelling to join some international terrorist organisations.

According to further report from punchng, the Nigerians were suspected to be on their way to join international terrorist organisations, including the Islamic State of Syria and Iraq and the Taliban, sources within the NIS confided in our correspondent.

Marvin Gaye's son is taking legal action over TV show 'Empire'. Marvin Gaye III is planning to sue programme creator Lee Daniels and network Fox as he claims they stole his idea for the drama series, TMZ reports.

Marvin claims to have registered a treatment on a show called 'Diamonds & Ballads', aka 'Those Sons of Riches!', with the Writers Guild of America in 2010, with the proposed drama pitched as ''a music based 'black' and 'hip' version of 'Dynasty' ... with a little 'Sopranos'.''

Palace Chief confirms Ooni of Ife death ... To formally announce his death Wednesday

The Head of Oro cult in Ife, who is also the Awara of Iwara Ife, Oba Layi Adereti, has said that the formal announcement of the demise of the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, will be made on Wednesday (tomorrow).

This, he said, would however be done after the conclusion of a traditional rite that would be done by Oro worshippers in the town on Wednesday.

Consequently, Adereti asked residents of Ife to stay indoors on Wednesday to enable the Oro worshippers to carry out one of the final rites for the death of the late traditional ruler.

Photo: India school teacher mercilessly thrash a class 2 student

A school teacher in Handwara town in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district mercilessly beat up a class two student, inflicting serious injuries on the torso of the child. The incident took place two days ago on Saturday, although reports came to light only on Monday.

The 8-year-old student of International school, Handwara, has marks all over his back after being beaten up by a stick. Prima facie the teacher got annoyed with the kid because he was shouting loudly with another kid and had entered into a small tiff with him.

Breaking! Deadly explosion hits Kabul airport entrance

A large explosion has hit the entrance to Kabul airport, killing at least four people and wounding many more, according to Afghan officials.

Sources told Al Jazeera that a car bomb was used in the attack, which took place at the civilian entrance of the main airport in Kabul on Monday.

Four civilians were killed, and 17 people wounded, including a woman and a child, said Wahidullah Mayar, a spokesman for the public health ministry.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack in a crowded area outside an airport checkpoint, but a security official said it appeared to be aimed at two armoured cars, although it was not clear who was in the vehicles, Reuters news agency reported.

Economic Crisis: Banks reject senators’ loan requests

Banks in Nigeria has started rejecting loan request by some senators’ of the Federal Republic due to the current cash crunch in the Economic. Some Senators was force to seek for loan due to the non payment of their salaries since their inauguration on June 9, all they have received is N6m housing loan, which many of them said was not enough to get decent accommodation in Abuja.

Some of the senators, who spoke with Punch said because of non-payment of their salaries, they were forced to apply for loans from banks but the banks refused to give them, citing economic difficulties the Nigerian government is facing.

President Muhammadu Buhari has commence probing of former President Goodluck Jonathan administration as in orders the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission to collate and locate funds embezzled under President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

The President’s directive was reportedly given shortly before his trip to the United States on July 20, 2015.

Punch Newspapers reports that the directive was given in order to ascertain the exact figure stolen under the former administration, before they can be traced to foreign countries, where they are stashed.

The University of Lagos part time lecturer who allegedly rape an 18 years admission seeker was on Sunday disowned by the Authorities of the school.

On July 23, 2015 Dr. Akin Baruwa, reportedly raped an 18-year-old admission seeker in his office and was subsequently arrested and place under detention at the Kirikiri Prison.

However, in their usual fashion, the school without hesitation, feigned ignorance and complete cluelessness when asked about the staff of the school.
