When it comes to what one can afford Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos could buy any type of abode that he fancied, but he chooses to live in a Las Vegas trailer park that he owns. But when we say trailer, it is not like a normal trailer for loading goods but it is like a mobile house that is equip with what you can think of.

According to Dailymail, his trailer park is called ‘Llamapolis’ and he shares it with his pet alpaca. He used $350 million to invest in Las Vegas to attract more business people.

Veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva mom has passed away at age 89.

Dr Marienne Abimbola Silva, who died peacefully on Sunday morning July 19th, was the third female doctor in Nigeria and also first Nigerian female to bag a medical degree and for this  she was honoured with Officer of the Order of The Niger (OON).

She's survived by her children and grandchildren.

SARS nab Church Offering Thieves in Abija

Two men, Isaac Nyam and his accomplice, both pictured above were rrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Abuja after they robbed the Kingdom Connection Church, Jabi Daki-Biyu Abuja on June 15th.

According to The Sun, the men were part of a 4-man robbery gang that specialized in robbing churches in Abuja of their tithes and offerings.

The robbers, who disguise as worshipers, attend the service of a church and then attack and rob them of the offerings collected.

Army Special Forces Clear Damaturu-Biu Road of Land Mines

The Nigerian military says it has successfully detonated land mines planted by Boko Haram insurgents along the Maiduguri-Biu Road.

Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, who stated this in a statement on Sunday, declared the road safe for usage as adequate security had been provide to ensure safety of commuters.

Usman specifically said the land mines were removed by the Special Forces Explosive Ordinance Devices Unit in collaboration with the police and the vigilance groups.

APC wants Goodluck Jonathan to apologise for bad governance

So, the All Progressives Congress has called on former President Goodluck Jonathan to apologise to Nigerians for the kind of “bad governance and leadership” it administered on the country during the six years he spent in office.

According to a report by Punchng, the party also called on the Peoples Democratic Party to eat the humble pie and apologise to the people for the way it mismanaged the country for the 16 years it ruled the country, saying their apologies would be the most honourable thing to do.

SAD! Fifth victim from the Chattanooga terror attack dies

U.S. Navy sailor has succumbed to injuries sustained in this week's deadly Tennessee rampage, bringing the death toll from the shooting to 5. The U.S. Navy did not immediately release the name of the sailor. 

On Friday, a statement by the Navy said a petty officer was undergoing "medical treatment" for gunshot wounds, but it is not immediately clear if Saturday's victim is the same person.

The Navy said the sailor died at 2:17 a.m. Saturday. His name will not be released until 24 hours after his family has been contacted.

Aisha Buhari reveal she still cooks for her Husband

DSS reveal reason behind Sambo Dasuki’s home raid (READ STATEMENT)

The Department of State Security Service, has explained why it raided the home of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, and why he was also detained. 

Below is a statement they released, signed by Tony Opuiyo, explaining their side of things.

"On 16th July, 2015, about 1650 hours, based on credible intelligence linking the immediate past NSA, Mohammed Sambo Dasuki (Col Rtd) with alleged plans to commit treasonable felony against the Nigerian State, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) conducted a search on the properties belonging to the former NSA, Mohammed Sambo DASUKI (Col Rtd). The properties are on Nos. 13, John Khadya Street, Nos. 46, Nelson Mandela Street, both at Asokoro, Abuja, and Nos. 3 Sabon Birni Road, Gwiwa Area, Sokoto, Sokoto State.

Former President Jonathan's Chief Security Officer detains by DSS

There are reports that the DSS has detained the Chief Security Officer to former President Jonathan, Gordon Obua. According to a report by Punch, Obua was arrested and detained on Thursday July 16 as part of measures by the new administration to probe officials who worked under GEJ’s. The order for his arrest was given by President Buhari. 

The reason for the detention of the former CSO is not immediately known but a source told Punch that investigators maybe trying to gather info on key officials in Jonathan’s government from Obua

Presidential media adviser Femi Adeshina confirmed that president Buhari is planning to probe the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan, he reveal this in an interview with Vanguard, 

He (Buhari) has said it that money in billions of dollars will be recovered. But you know the world is too small a place for anybody to hide if you are running from justice. You will be fished out. So, there is no need that you say they should not be heading for jail if eventually the law goes after them. Very few countries can they hide in and how long will they hide? So, it doesn’t mean that anybody that has ill gotten wealth will not regurgitate it. They will. Remember when he went to Germany for the G7 summit, he met with President Obama and Obama told him to just give us information on where the loot is hidden and we will help you recover it and the government has been working on that. So, that shows that looters will never go free" he said

Pres. Buhari ask 25 Generals to retire within 6 weeks

About 25 Generals, who were affected by the appointment of their juniors as service chiefs last Tuesday by President Muhammadu Buhari have been given six weeks to voluntarily retire from the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has condemned the recent invasion and sealing-off of the Abuja and Sokoto residences of the immediate past National Security Adviser (NSA), Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd) by men of the Department of State Services (DSS).

The Governor said; “persecution of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwarts and others perceived as opposed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Federal Government is an ominous sign of imminent return of dictatorship and draconian rule in Nigeria”.

According to Premium Times, It was the first time the channel’s signal would be off in the last one week. The government’s initial claims of jamming the transmission and seizing Radio Biafra’s equipment were untrue as of Friday night.

President Buhari appoints new Commandant for NSCDC

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Abdullahi Muhammadu as the new Commandant-General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

A statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Muhammadu communicated the development.

Dr. Ade Abolurin, the former Commandant-General, has retired from service.

The new NSCDC boss was an Assistant Commandant-General of the NSCDC before his new appointment.

Former President Obasanjo says Niger Delta will suffer for Jonathan’s actions in office

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has said the Niger Delta region will suffer for the actions and in actions of the immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan.

Obasanjo, who spoke after delivering a convocation lecture at the Benson Idahosa University, Benin City said he couldn’t have helped Jonathan to do his job as Nigeria President after helping him to secure the position.
