Rapper DMX Sentenced to Six Months in Jail


Earl Simmons, better known by his stage names DMX has been sentenced to six months in jail for failing to pay child support. He was sentenced on Tuesday night in Buffalo, New York, and has already been placed in custody.

The troubled rapper was arrested last month before a performance at Radio City Music Hall for unpaid child support, a robbery complaint and bail jumping.

Has things really gone bad for one time best rapper in the game? Report says DMX owes over $400,000 in child support.

Singer Nick Cave Son dies after falling from a Cliff


So sad! Australian musician and song writer Nick Cave's loses son after he reportedly fell from a cliff next to a beach in Brighton.

According to UK Evening Standard, Arthur Cave, 15, was left seriously injured after falling from cliffs at Ovingdean Gap yesterday afternoon. Police were called to the scene at about 6pm after reports that the teenager had fallen 60ft to the coastal path below. Passers-by rushed to give the boy first aid at the scene as they desperately tried to save his life.

Edo PDP Chieftain Slams Oshiomole Over Okonjo-Iweala Comments





A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Prince Sani Usman, has asked Governor Adams Oshiomole of Edo State to stop picking holes in the past activities of Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Usman said this in reaction to assertion by Governor Oshiomole at a Seminar in Benin that Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala illegally withdrew $1 billion from the Federation Account to prosecute the re-election bid of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Abia Governor bans roadside car wash


According to report from LIB, Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has banned roadside car wash in the state. The governor placed the ban while inspecting a new road project in Aba, the state capital and Umuahia. According to the governor, the detergents used in washing the cars on the road cause the tars on the road to deteriorate.

Photo: Governor Ambode pulls over to rescues accident victim


According to report on Monday morning, Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, ordered his vehicle to stop on Osborne Road, Ikoyi, while on his way to the office. He had just witnessed an accident on the road and stopped his vehicle in order to assist in the rescue of the victim.

The accident involve Miss Angela Anukam who was driving alone in a wine-coloured Toyota Corolla at about 8.15am, when she lost control and rammed into the median of the road before the vehicle somersaulted.

JAMB announces cut-off mark


The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has announced 180 as the admission cut-off score for degree programmes, and 150 for national certificate in education, national diploma and national innovation diplomas.

JAMB registrar, Dibu Ojerinde, made this known at a press conference Tuesday.

#BigThief: Men Arrested For Stealing An ATM Machine


No Time to waist! Instead of stealing the cash one after the other they decided to uproot the entire machine. Two men from Clewiston, Florida, are accused of using a backhoe to steal an ATM machine from a Center State Bank location in Winter Haven. The men successfully dislodged the ATM and loaded it into their getaway truck. 

But they were pulled over and apprehended a short time later while driving back to Clewiston. UPI reports:

Some of the fired service chiefs include the Chief of Defence staff, and the heads of Army, Navy and the Air Force. After the annoucement the President went on to announce the appointment of new Service Chiefs and NSA to take the place of the sacks chief of staffs.

LASTMA official, who slumped on traffic duty, dies


The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), who we report that slumped while controlling traffic on Ishaga Road in the Idi-Araba, Mushin area on Saturday, has died.

Kazeem Lawal, was brought in dead to the Randle Hospital, Surulere, where his colleagues had rushed him.

Lewis Hamilton kicked out of the Royal Box of Wimbledon because his dressing was not smart enough. 

According to further report, the 30-year-old Formula One racer - who was spotted wearing a floral shirt, hat and chinos - attended the Wimbledon Tennis Men's Final between Roger Federer and Novac Djokovic on Sunday but was told to leave the exclusive area because he was not wearing suitable attire, such as a jacket or tie.

A spokesperson for Lewis confirmed: ''Due to an unfortunate misunderstanding regarding the dress code at Wimbledon, Lewis is very disappointed to have missed the men's final.''

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that Manchester United have signed "two top class players" in the form of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin.

The Red Devils have today completed a double swoop for the midfield pair, which will boost Louis van Gaal's options in the centre of the park significantly.

Schweinsteiger has a vast level of experience, while Schneiderlin's performances for the Saints in the Premier League have been met with widespread praise in recent years.

Manchester United today announce the signing of both Germany International Bastian Schweinsteiger and French Midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin from Bayern Munich and Southampton respectively.

Bastian Schweinsteiger completed his move to United after penning down a three year contracts for a fee of £15m while Morgan Schneiderlin signed a four year deal for a fee in the region of £25million.

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Dies at 55


President of Japanese popular gaming company Nintendo, Satoru Iwata has died at the age of 55 following a battle with cancer. 

Iwata first joined Nintendo in the 1980s, working on games including Balloon Fight, Earth Boundand the Kirby franchise, working his way up the company before taking on the top post in 2002 following the retirement of Hiroshi Yamauchi, the company’s president since 1949, becoming only the fourth president in Nintendo’s history and the first to be unrelated to the Yamauchi family. Two years ago, he became CEO of Nintendo of America, Inc.

Chelsea Complete Signing of Asmir Begovic From Stoke City


Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Asmir Begovic from Stoke City in a statement on their ​official website, revealing that the stopper will join on a four-year deal.
"I am very happy to be joining Chelsea FC. After speaking at length to the manager, I feel like I can develop here and be an important part of this team. I am looking forward to meeting up with the team on Wednesday for the pre-season tour."
Begovic will be given the vacant number 1 jersey, formerly inhabited by the departed Petr Cech, with Thibaut Courtois keeping his number 13 shirt. The fee hasn't been announced, but is thought to be in the region of £8m

FCTA Orders The Sealing Of Properties In Abuja District


Due to an alleged failure of property owners in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, to comply with a re-decoration order, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has obtained a court order to seal-off 36 premises in Asokoro District. 

FCTA’s Department of Development Control, had previously issued a re-decoration order to owners of the 36 houses. The order was given by Folashade Oyekan, Presiding Judge of the Mobile Court, set up to try redecoration offenders. Oyekan also ordered that five of the defaulters who were present in court, should be given a two-week grace to redecorate their premises or risk being sealed-off. 

Group Asks Ekweremadu To ‘Step Aside’ As Deputy Senate President


A Southeast pressure group has asked Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu to “step aside” to allow another senator from the zone replace him.

The African League Organisation (ALO), which demanded Ekweremadu’s resignation while addressing journalists in Abuja yesterday, alleged that as Deputy Senate President in the past eight years, he had been passive as no tangible progress had been made in the Southeast that could be linked to his name.

Years later, she has been able to come to terms with the reality of her birth and has fought the depression.

Dencia said that everything is fine in her family but nobody seems to want to tell her the story of her birth.

PDP Explains NLNG Funds under Jonathan, ask APC to stop deceiving Nigerians



The opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has denied accusations by the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, that successive administrations never remitted any dividend paid by the Nigeria Liquefied Natural gas, NLNG, until the current administration of Muhammadu Buhari.

The APC spokesperson, Lai Mohammed, had earlier on Sunday issued a statement asking the Federal Government to urgently unravel what happened to the past Company Income Tax / Education Tax as well as dividends paid to the Nigerian government by the NLNG, against the background of published reports that the funds were never paid into the Federation Account as they should have been.

In its response by its spokesperson, Olisa Metuh, the PDP on Sunday described the statement by Mr. Mohammed as “misleading and outright falsehood.”
