Fake Police Officer nab in Lagos State after 12years of impersonation

The Lagos State police command has nab one Godwin Akhenamen 33, who have impersonated to be a police officer for the past 12 years.

Akhenamen was arrested on Tuesday, June 30, by policemen attached to the X-squad Department around the Ikeja area.Punch gathered that Akhenamen, who was arrested in uniform, was apprehended while on a fake duty post in a business district. 

A police source said the suspect wore a uniform meant for spy policemen, while the force number on his uniform was “unusual”. 

President Buhari says he will fulfill his promise to create jobs

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday said he would do all within his power to fulfill the promise he made to Nigerians that jobs would be created as part of efforts to revive the economy.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, quoted the President as speaking while granting audience to foreign investors who are the proprietors of Olam Farms Nigeria Limited, inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Buhari was reported to have said that his administration would move as fast as it can to resuscitate the textile and mining industries and also improve production in agricultural sector.

4yr old girl died after swallowing lithium battery

A 4 years old Summer Steer reportedly died in 2013 from complications after swallowing a small lithium battery. Although she taken to the hospital 3 times, the doctor could not ascertain the cause of condition.

According to ABC News, an inquest heard that Summer went into cardiac arrest after ingesting the button-shaped battery on June 30, 2013, despite doctors telling her mother she would be fine.

Summer, from Queensland, Australia, was taken to Noosa Hospital after she began complaining of a sore stomach, a high temperature and black bowel movements. She later began vomiting blood and collapsed at home after being discharged by doctors.

Former Gov. Sule Lamido and his two sons in EFCC Net

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested the Former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for alleged money laundering-related offences.

Investigations revealed that operatives of the anti-graft agency picked up the former governor and his two sons, Mustapha and Aminu in the early hours of Tuesday in Abuja.

It was learnt that the EFCC leadership ordered a crack team of detectives to fly them to Kano by 2.30 pm to prepare them for their arraignment for alleged fraud that amount to billions of Naira.

Amateur footballer died after sliding off a wet pitch following a tackle

So sad! An amateur footballer died after he slid off a wet pitch following a sliding tackle and smashed his head into the clubhouse wall, UK Mail reports.

Striker Ben Hiscox, 30, who played for Stoke Gifford United in Bristol, was knocked unconscious after hitting the wall, which was just six feet behind the goal.

He suffered two seizures and died in hospital two days later.

President Buhari approves N400bn to pay workers’ salaries

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a comprehensive relief package of over N400bn for the payment of workers’ salaries in the country.

According to a recent report of the Nigeria Labour Congress Task Force, 18 states are owing employees salary arrears of at least six months.

The debtor states include; Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Benue, Cross River, Ekiti, Imo, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Kogi. Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers and Zamfara.
