Lagos State Govt shuts down 24 religious outfits over noise pollution

The Lagos State government yesterday revealed it shut down 24 religious houses in the last one year for contributing to noise pollution.

This was made known during the 2015 ministerial press briefing held by the Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello and General Manager of the Lagos State Environment Protection, LASEPA, Mr Ademola Shabi. Shabi said

Apostle Suleman explains while His election prophecies didn’t come true

General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleman, who prophesied during his new year message many politicians who lost in the last election would win, has now explained why some of his prophecies didn’t come to pass.

In a chat with the Punch Newspaper, he revealed that some politicians contacted him to reverse the prophecies. He urged Nigerians not to accuse him of being a fake prophet on the strength of this.

Remember I said it will become a trend and it has started already. 45 year old Adamu Abdullahi says he will be trekking form Maiduguri in Borno State to Abuja from tomorrow April 30th, so he can meet with Gen Buhari to congratulate him on his victory at the presidential elections, according to KSM News. Married with 4 children, Adamu says he will be leaving Maiduguri by 6am tomorrow and will depart from Jimtilo park. He asked all Borno state indigenes to forward their petitions to him so he can forward them to Gen. Buhari.

Group jogs 4kms from Owerri to Orlu to celebrate Rochas Okorocha's victory (Photos)

The new trend is now trekking or jogging to celebrate winners in Nigeria Election. We have heard of Suleiman who started the trend by trekking from Lagos to Abuja to celebrate Buhari's Victory. And its not ending yet as a group of Imo State residents pictured above jogged 4 kilometers from Owerri to Orlu in celebration of Rochas Okorocha's victory. Their feat also earned them a lunch date with the governor.

In what have look like a smooth ride after the 2015 General Election, a disagreement has broken out between the transition committees of President Goodluck Jonathan and General Muhammadu Buhari as the president accused the Buhari team of acting like a parallel government and trying to stampede the Jonathan administration out of office.

Lonely Pensioner leaves entire £500,000 fortune to man who cleaned his gutters for free

This is more like an usual story as a lonely pensioner left half a million pounds to a builder (photo above) who once agreed to clean out his gutters for free. Ronald Butcher, a 'private and quiet man', bequeathed his entire £500,000 fortune to Daniel Sharp after he died in March 2013.

But his relatives and family friends insist that the will, made just two months before his death, is invalid and say that the builder is lying about his friendship with Mr Butcher.

Muslim Girl banned from class because her long skirt made her too religious

A 15-year-old Muslim student has been banned from attending class at a school in northeastern France after it was ruled that her black maxi skirt was 'too religious'.

According to UK Mail Online, the student, identified only as Sarah, was stopped from going to class earlier this month by the head teacher who reportedly felt the full-length skirt 'conspicuously' showed religious affiliation.

The school argues that the skirt fell foul of France's strict secularity laws governing state schools, which bans students from wearing hijabs, kippahs or large Christian crosses.

Customary Court disband marriage over wife’s lack of vagina opening

A Customary Court sitting in Ake, Abeokuta  on Wednesday April 29th dissolved a three years marriage between Mr Femi Olayiwole and wife, Kemi, due to the absence of vagina, deceit and frequent fighting. Olayiwole told the court that his wife deceived him to marry her knowing that she could not bear him a child. He accused his wife, who had failed to appear in court after being summoned several times, of living a false life, frequent fighting and threatening his life.
