The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, March 9, 2015 arraigned Bulus Adamu Samuel, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Gombe State on a 4-count charge bordering on conspiracy, forgery, contract scam, misappropriation of public funds, theft and abuse of office.

The accused who was formerly Chairman of Shongom Local Government, of the State, was arraigned before Justice M.G Umar of the Federal High Court sitting in Gombe. 

Sam Smith Collaborate With "unbelievable" John Legend

Sam Smith has collaborated with ''unbelievable'' John Legend. The 22-year-old singer has re-recorded his hit single 'Lay Me Down' with the musician - which is being released to raise money for British charity Comic Relief - and will perform the track with the 'All Of Me' hitmaker at the London Palladium on Friday (13.03.15) for the Red Nose Day telethon.

Speaking about working with the musician, he told BBC Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw: ''He's unbelievable, he's such a pro. We've been in contact for almost a year by email but I'd never met him and finally I got to meet him and he was so cool. I've never seen someone so professional in the studio like that, it was amazing.''

TRAGIC: 10 Killed As Helicopters Collide While Filming French Reality Show

What a tragic event! Ten people died today when two helicopters involved in the production of a French reality show collided in Argentina. The BBC reports that the choppers were carrying eight contestants of the TF1 reality competition Dropped and that all died along with the two Argentine pilots. “An explosion occurred, and it’s believed that they must have collided,” said La Rioja Secretary of Security Cesar Angulo, according to the BBC. The accident happened in near the Andes mountains in northwest Argentina, about 720 miles from Buenos Aires.

TF1 said in a statement: “We learn with great sadness about the accident during the filming of the Dropped show. All TF1 teams come together in this terrible time with the pain of the families and relatives of the victims.”

Forces from Chad and Niger opened a new front in the regional military fight against the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram, as army vehicles full of soldiers crossed the border into northeast Nigeria, officials and witnesses said Monday.

The escalation in a joint military campaign against the Nigeria-based Boko Haram comes just weeks before Nigerians head to the polls for an election which many fear will turn violent, and after scores of attacks by the militants on neighboring countries who have pledged to help Nigeria defeat the extremists.

Chadian Brig. Gen. Zakaria Ngobongue said Monday that his soldiers, alongside troops from Niger, had entered Nigeria. He declined to give details about the ongoing operation. Already Chadian forces had crossed into northeastern Nigeria from Cameroon to fight the jihadis, he said.

Fire Incident Reportedly Occurred At Africa Independent Television Studio in Lagos

The studio wing of the Africa Independent Television (AIT) in Alagbado, Lagos State was gutted by fire early this morning.

By the time of making this post there was still no known source as to the cause of the fire outbreak. The goodnews was that there was no life lost.

The fire has now been extinguished, and the degree of damage to the property is reportedly being assessed.

I was on transit yesterday and I happened to route through the Makera-Mokwa high way Niger state, when a fully loaded PMS tanker collided with an Honda Civic.Unfortunately, there were no survivors. Casualties were mostly children!

Dead Infant's Body discovered in Bucket

A body of a newborn infant has been found in a veld in Kingsburgh West in Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa. The body stuffed into a 25-litre-bucket was discovered by a group of boys.

Police pronounced the baby dead at the scene. Some community members have requested the municipality clear the bush as soon as possible. Police have opened an inquest docket into the boy's death.

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson launched a scathing attack on Mario Balotelli after the Italian striker failed to score again on Sunday.

Balotelli came off the bench in the second half of Liverpool's FA Cup quarter-final tie against Blackburn at Anfield but his introduction was not enough to prevent a replay.

Famous South Africa Rapper Flabba Murdered, allegedly by girlfriend

JOHANNESBURG - Skwatta Kamp member Nkululeko Habedi better known as Flabba, has died. He was 38 years old.

He is reported to have been stabbed to death at his family home in Alexandra in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police have confirmed that they have taken a woman, believed to be Habedi's girlfriend, in for questioning in relation to the murder.

Fani-Kayode To Buhari: "What was your Role In Killing Of 300 Igbo People In 1969 Coup d'etat"

PDP Campaign Organisation (PDPPCO) Director of Media of the, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has asked the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) to account for his role in January 29, 1969 coup d ‘etat, during which about 300 Igbo people were slaughtered.

Fani-Kayode made the demand during a press conference he addressed in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, where he called on the South-East voters to shun the APC presidential candidate at the polls.

According to him, the role played in the massacre of defenceless Igbos by the army division in which Buhari served, was part of the questions that was to have been put to Buhari during the sitting of the Justice Chukwudufu Oputa-led panel which he shunned. However, he said it was important that Buhari addressed the issues now that he is seeking to become the president of the country.
