Brave 4-year-old risks wolves and the subzero Siberia weather to get help for her grandmother


4-year-old Saglana Salchak has been called the bravest girl in Siberia after she walked five miles through a wolf-packed forest, across a frozen river to get help for her 60-year-old grandmother who was unconscious.

Saglana, who lives with her grandmother and blind grandfather in Tuva republic, Russia, set out with just a box of matches as temperatures dropped below 29 degrees. She walked for over three hours in the cold before she was seen by neighbours who took her to the hospital for check-up. Sadly, the grandmother she was trying to save had died of heart attack which was why she was motionless.

A woman was caught on camera entering a grocery store, Food 4 Less, in Riverside with her 2-year-old daughter. While there, the girl wandered off but the mother did not bother to seek out her child and she simply continued shopping. While shopping, someone brought the child over to her but she replied, “Oh, just leave her” and continued shopping.

A woman has been arrested by the Ebonyi state police command after she stabbed her 8-month-old child with a kitchen knife. According to a Facebook user, Omeri Francis Nwachi who shared the story, The baby was taken to Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki with the knife stuck in his stomach.

The deceased identified as Mrs Pat Oyo Omo-Osagie was trailed by her assailants to her residence located along Adesuwa road, GRA, Benin. The crisis rocking the Nigerian Bottling Company, NBC, a manufacturer of Coca-Cola, Fanta and Sprite is far from being over as the Lagos State Government is threatening to sanction the soft drink giant for breaching the state’s water regulatory policy.

The government made the threat at a news conference on Wednesday in commemoration of this year’s World Water Day, with the theme: “Waste Water.” The event was attended by the State Water Regulatory Commission (LSWRC), Lagos Water Corporation (LWC) and Lagos State Waste Water Management.

Federal prosecutors announced charges against four men, including two Russian intelligence agents, on Wednesday for their roles in a conspiracy that led to the 2014 theft of 500 million Yahoo accounts, one of the largest known data breaches.

The four men together face 47 criminal charges, including conspiracy, computer fraud, economic espionage, theft of trade secrets and aggravated identity theft, the Justice Department said in a news release.

Senate or DSS can't stop my fight against corruption - Magu


Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Ibrahim Magu, has vowed to continue the fight against corruption, stressing that neither the rejection of his nomination by the Senate nor the report by the Department of State Security (DSS) that he is ‘unfit’ to head the anti-graft agency can stop him.

Magu said this when he addressed a coalition of civil society groups at the entrance to the National Assembly.

Court Orders NAFDAC To Warn Against Drinking Fanta, Sprite With Vitamin C


A Lagos High Court sitting in the Igbosere area of Lagos Island, has ordered the National Agency For Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to order the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) PLC, to put a written warning on Fanta and Sprite bottles stating that both soft drinks are poisonous, when consumed along with Vitamin C.

The court also held that NAFDAC failed Nigerians by declaring, as fit for human consumption, products discovered by tests in the United Kingdom as turning poisonous when mixed with Ascorbic Acid (popularly known as Vitamin C).

DRAMA! Senate Rejects Magu As Efcc Boss for the Second time

 

The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on Wednesday, refused to confirm Mr. Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

President Muhammadu Buhari had late last year submitted the name of Mr. Magu to the Senate, for confirmation as substantive Chairman of EFCC, having served in acting capacity since November, 2015.

The Senate however, turned down his confirmation, citing security reports as reason why it would not go ahead to confirm Magu.
