El Rufai Says ‘He Has No Regrets Or Apologies For Saying Buhari Has Failed’


The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Friday said he has no regret or apology for writing the leaked memo which berated the President Muhammadu Buhari’s Federal Government.

Recall that El-Rufai had in his memo declared that both Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, had failed Nigerians.

Janet Jackson's ex-husband shares cryptic message on his site after failed marriage


Janet Jackson,50, who recently separated from her Qatari billionaire husband of five years, Wissam Al Mana, 42, earlier this month, showed the face of their newborn son,  Eissa Al Mana on her page. Her estranged husband also took the opportunity to post a cryptic message to his wife on his website on Friday. The message seems to be related to a passage in the Quran.

The suspended Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Timi Frank, has said that there is currently no ruling party in the nation, citing disorganisation of the party as reason for his stance.

President Buhari fires PenCom, CPC, BPE bosses, 20 others

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday relieved the heads of 23 Federal Government agencies of their appointments and approved the appointment of their replacements.
Among those fired are the erstwhile Director-General, National Pension Commission, Mrs. Chinelo Anohu-Amazu; her counterpart in the Consumer Protection Council, Mrs. Dupe Atoki; and the Acting Director-General, Bureau of Public Enterprises, Dr. Vincent Akpotaire.
A statement by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Bolaji Adebiyi, said that the appointments take immediate effect.

Nigerian troops kill 57 Boko Haram members in Borno battle

Troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole and the Multi-National Joint Task Force have shot dead at least 57 Boko Haram terrorists in Arege area of northern Borno State, during a gun battle.
The Boko Haram insurgents, who were regrouping under trees in the area, were reportedly caught by an Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance platform of the air component, Lafiya Dole, before the MNJTF troops opened fire on them.

EFCC moves seized $43 million, £27,000, N23 million to CBN

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday moved the recovered cash to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
EFCC obtained a court order for the temporary seizure of the $43million, N23million and £27,000; quizzed a former Managing Director of the Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC), who was suspected of being the owner of the cash; and planned to review the Close Circuit Television (CCTV) of the building to determine the identity of a “haggard-looking” woman who is said to have been bringing in sacks (suspected to be holding the cash) into the apartment.

US Military Drops ‘Mother Of All Bombs On IS’ In Afghanistan

The US military says it has dropped the most destructive non-nuclear bomb ever used in combat on an Islamic State group tunnel complex in Afghanistan.
The GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb (MOAB), known as “the mother of all bombs”, was first tested in 2003, but had not been used before.
The Pentagon said it was dropped from a US aircraft in Nangarhar province, BBC reports.

Court orders temporary forfeiture of cash recovered by EFCC from Ikoyi apartment

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, yesterday, ordered temporary forfeiture of the sums of $43million, £27,800 pounds and N23 million recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, from an apartment in the Ikoyi area of Lagos on Wednesday.
 The ruling came as mystery over ownership of the money deepened yesterday, as speculations were rife that the money belonged to a government security agency.

I didn’t insult former President GEJ - Jimoh Ibrahim

Businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim, as disclaimed news reports quoting him to have insulted ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.
Ibrahim, an ex-Ondo State governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, said he could not have hauled invectives at Jonathan, who ruled the country on the platform of the PDP, because he held Jonathan in high esteem.
In a statement be personally signed on Thursday, Ibrahim disowned the Twitter account being quoted by some news outlet as the platform on which he attacked Jonathan.
