VIDEO: US Outgoing VP Joe Biden fight back tears as Obama surprises him with Medal of Freedom

US Vice President Joe Biden broke down in tears yesterday when Barack Obama awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom in a surprise White House farewell ceremony.

The award is the greatest civilian honor in America and Joe Biden never knew it was going to be given to him. He had been lured to the event under the belief he was attending a drinks reception.

Mercy Johnson replies Tonto Dikeh, accept apologies and forgives her

In what we termed 'divine move' we earlier reported this morning that Tonto Dikeh apologized to Mercy Johnson for insulting her and her child in 2013.

Woman attempt to break her boyfriend out of jail in suitcase (Photos)

A woman tried to smuggle her boyfriend out of prison by hiding him in a pink suitcase but got caught when she struggled to pull it along on her way out.

The attempted jailbreak took place in the Jose Antonio Anzoategui prison, better known as Puente Ayala, located in the state of Anzoategui, in north-eastern Venezuela.Antonieta Robles Saouda, 25, went to the jail with a six-year-old girl to visit Ibrain Jose Vargas Garcia, who is serving nine years and eight months after being convicted for car robbery.

Wole Soyinka: "If we do not tame religion in this nation, religion would kill us"

Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has warned that religion will kill Nigeria if it is not tamed.

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday at the presentation of a book, Religion and the Making of Nigeria, written by Prof. Olufemi Vaughan, the Nobel laureate imagined what the world would be if religion had never been invented and condemned killings in the name of religion saying he wondered how any rational being could attempt to justify homicide  as an act of devotion.
