Accident at Lagos-Ibadan Expressway kills one, leaves 18 injured

One person whose identity has not been revealed yet has been reportedly killed while 18 others sustained various injuries in a road accident that occurred along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Wednesday morning.

The accident according to a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan by the Oyo Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Yusuff K. Salami occurred at about 8.30am and was caused by wrongful overtaking and mechanical deficiency.


Salami said that the accident that occurred at Km 119 Guru Maharaji Bridge involved a mazda E2000 Bus with registration number WWD772XA white Colour, Mack Tanker with registration number EPE 88 XT white colour and Toyota Camry Car with registration number LSR 349 SF; red colour.

He said that the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue of Adeoyo Hospital while those who sustained injuries have been taken to Ibadan Central Hospital and University College Hospital for treatment.
