The Royal Father who received the chairman of Guinness Nigeria Mr. Babatunde Savage, and his management to his palace in Benin City, Edo state said, the kingdom is dedicated and committed to ensuring that youths are engaged in agricultural production to boost the economy of the state.
Oba Ewuare N\'Ogidigan stated that when farming begins next season in the over 20, 000 hectares of land, many unemployed youths will be taken off the street as well as create better markets for all cassava farmers across the state.
He stressed that his vision was to revive agriculture to ensure adequate food supply and raw materials for industries noting that he will join forces with the state government to create enabling an environment for investors in the sector.
He expressed delight over the progress recorded by Guinness Nigeria in its effort to complement palace’s efforts in agro-businesses and promised to give the necessary support for the smooth take off of the project this farming season.
Earlier the leader of the team, Mr. Babatunde Savage had told the monarch that they were at the palace to brief him on the successes recorded and some of the challenges being faced in its bid to commenced mass production of cassava and processing in Bini kingdom
According to him, the over twenty million dollars proposed mass cassava production farming would also be processed to produced flour, starch, sugar and ethanol for industrial uses.
The proposed mass cassava production will kick off this farming season, and is expected to produce over twenty thousand tones of cassava annually.
