Parents of a Nigerian teenage gay boy are pressuring their son to remain in a seminary school in other for him to end up as a priest.
According to Nigerian LGBT rights website, Nostringsng, the 19year old teenage boy (names withheld) who reached out to them out of frustration, narrated his experience at home with his parents, and stated that he is completely depressed, and wishes to commit suicide.
“Please help me or I'm gonna commit suicide and I am not kidding about it, am so depressed, my parents aren’t helping matters. He wrote.
As NoStrings enquired further, he revealed that his parents were trying to keep him in a seminary school, and that he does not want to become a priest, and to make matters worse for him, they all hated him at the seminary.
“I left the goddamn seminary last year, it was hell, a priest there kept pressurizing me to have sex with him and I refused. He threatened to make life a living hell for me.
After that incidence, another student lied about me, saying that I tried to talk him into having sex with me. People who heard the stories all hated me at the seminary. I nearly committed suicide then.
Now my family felt so disappointed in me. They think I'm a failure, they want me to pray about everything and go back this year, but I don’t want to. I might not survive it.
He said that he is currently now living with an aunt, but that he doesn’t trust if she will allow him stay for too long.
“I'm staying with my aunt but I doubt she’s going to harbor me for long. Stay at home and cry all day is all I seem to do. I don’t want to be here anymore. I just want to do something before it gets too late for me, just anything to help me survive so long as I don’t have to go back to the seminary.
