Watford coach, Walter Mazzari, has said it has been a “difficult” debut season for Isaac Success.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s Premier League fixture against Southampton at Vicarage Road, the Italian tactician admitted that it was the reason he was managing how the Nigerian striker plays.
Success picked up an hamstring injury late last year and has been struggling with match fitness.
Mazzari says they are waiting for the 20-year-old, who has scored only once in 12 league games, to “show us what he can do”.
“Of course, when you’re a player that comes back from an injury, and it’s only training, it’s difficult to say when exactly he will be back,” Mazzarri was quoted by Hertfordshire Mercury.
“He did play sometime in recent games, but he is slowly coming back and we cannot wait to have him back because it will help the side.
“Unfortunately he started once and was OK, and then got immediately got injured.
“He did play the last games, but he was not as brilliant as he was at the beginning.
”But we are waiting for him and when he is back to full fitness, he will show us what he can do.”
