Atletico Madrid chairman Enrique Cerezo has joked that he is working on a deal to bring Barcelona star Lionel Messi to the club.
The two sides went head-to-head on Sunday looking to make ground on League leaders Real Madrid, with Messi scoring a late winner to give Barca a 2-1 win at the Vicente Calderon.
Rather than discuss the future of manager Diego Simeone, who looks set to leave at the end of the season, or striker Fernando Torres, Cerezo jested his attention is on securing a deal for Messi.
"We're trying to bring Messi to Atletico Madrid," he told Bein Sport. "The rest are secondary for us."
Messi has been linked with a move away from the Catalan club at the end of the season following a breakdown in communications regarding a new deal at Camp Nou.
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City and Serie A's Inter are both said to be interested in a transfer, while a return to boyhood club Newell's Old Boys in Argentina has also been mooted.
Barcelona are moved above Real at the top of the Liga table on Sunday, though Real hold two games in hand over their rivals, with Atleti themselves fighting to close the gap between themselves and those at the top.
