Southern Kaduna: Two suspected Fulani herdsmen arrested with AK47 (PHOTO)

Two suspected Fulani herdsmen were on Thursday arrested with AK47 rifles in Samaru Kataf junction, Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna state.

A letter was earlier alleged to have been dropped in Samaru Kataf about an intending attack on the community.

The letter written in Hausa, appeared on the supposed letter-head of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Kaduna state chapter.

Zangon Kataf local government area has been under 24-hour curfew following the attack by suspected herdsmen who always hit and run.
“Students no longer go to school in Zangon Kataf while businesses are grounded. There is no justification from the government on why the victims are being punished,” a resident lamented.
A security source said the two alleged Fulani herdsmen arrested with the AK47 said they were heading to Sanga, another local government that had suffered massive attacks and killings from the herdsmen since 2013.
“We will pursue this,” a resident said, referring to the arrest made.
When contacted, spokesman of the Police Command in the State, ASP Aliyu Usman, said he would reach our correspondent later today, Friday.
