(Photos) Woman linked to assassination of Kim Jong Un's brother' was a contestant on Pop Idol

A woman suspected of helping to assassinate the brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was a keen singer believed to have featured on the Vietnamese version of TV talent show Pop Idol.

Doan Thi Huong, an entertainment worker whose Facebook pages features pouting portraits and pictures of parties, is being held by Malaysian police over the murder of Kim Jong-nam .

She bears a close resemblance to a woman who sang on Vietnam Idol on June 3 last year.

Four days before Kim Jong Un's was killed at a Malaysian airport, she appears to have posted a picture of herself wearing a shirt emblazoned with the acronym "LOL", similar to the one on the fleeing suspect caught on CCTV cameras.

According to Daily Record, a  woman bearing a close resemblance to Huong sang on the show as contestant number 67816 on June 3.

Facial recognition tools give a match to the pictures released by Malaysian police of Huong in custody.

The contestant gave Nam Dinh as her home town - the same as Huong's according to passport details from the Malaysian police - but her name was given as Dinh Thi Khuyen.

She left the show in the first round.
