The Premier League clubs played out an eventful game in Sunday's Wembley final, with the United forward proving to be the matchwinner
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice in Manchester United's 3-2 Wembley final victory over Southampton on Sunday to secure the League Cup trophy for Jose Mourinho's men.
Manolo Gabbiadini had an early goal incorrectly disallowed for offside, before Ibrahimovic struck his 25th goal of the season from a free kick.
Jesse Lingard put the Red Devils 2-0 but Gabbiadini struck either side of half time to give hope to Claude Puel's side.
Ibrahimovic latched onto an Ander Herrera cross minutes before full time, nodding the winning goal past Fraser Forster in the Southampton goal to secure the victory, and the trophy, for United.
