Patrice Evra’s agent, Federico Pastotello, has revealed that he spoke with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, over a possible return for his client, but the Portuguese was not interested in the player.
Evra eventually left Juventus for Marseille this month.
Pastotella however admits the 35-year-old would have done anything for a return to Old Trafford, having spent eight years with United in the past.
The France defender won five Premier League titles, the Champions League and Club World Cup during his time in England.
“There was contact between the player and Jose Mourinho,” Pastotella told Telefoot.
“If there had been an opportunity to return, he would have done everything to go back to Manchester United.
“The key to part of the transfer to Marseille was the meeting with sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta.”
