The wedding hashtag #Hanolu2016 has been trending all day on Instagram because of its extravaganza – from a £30,000 (N15million) wedding gown to their amazing wedding cake and the jaw-dropping souvenirs which comprised of designer bags & Sun Glasses, Couture Shoes in different sizes, amongst other things.

A Ugandan couple from Soroti province walked half a kilometer to church for their wedding.

According to multiple online reports, the groom and his bride did this due to their low budget as they were joined by their family and friends for the event.

US immigration officials detain Singaporean blogger


A Singaporean blogger who has stirred controversy in his home country is being detained by U.S. immigration officials, the Department of Homeland Security said on Friday.

Amos Yee, 18, who was jailed earlier this year in the Southeast Asian city-state, was stopped by customs agents at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport on Dec. 16 as he sought political asylum in the United States, his mother said.

Russian military jet with 91 people onboard crashes over Black Sea


A body has been found in the Black Sea after a Russian military jet with 92 people on board crashed shortly after take-off, the defence ministry said.

The plane was carrying more than 60 members of the renowned military choir and dance band, the Alexandrov Ensemble, better known as the Red Army Choir, for a concert at the Russian air base in Syria.

Nine members of the media were among the 84 passengers on board.
