Jesus Is Coming to Etihad! Where lies Iheanacho's faith?

Gabriel Jesus is finally on his way to Manchester City, three months after signing for Pep Guardiola's side.

Jesus has helped Palmeiras to a record ninth Brazilian league title and will now spend a free weekend in Manchester acclimatising to his new surroundings after arriving on Thursday. He posted a picture on Instagram with his bags packed along with the caption: 'Manchester here I come!'

The 19-year-old Brazil forward signed from Palmeiras in August but City gave permission for their new acquisition to remain in Brazil until the end of their domestic season.

Jesus's unexpected break comes in tragic circumstances, however, with the Brazilian season's final fixtures postponed as a mark of respect for those who died in the plane crash that killed nearly the entire Chapecoense team.

The Sao Paulo-born starlet will be introduced to his new team-mates at City's training ground on Friday and will then watch many of them in action at the Etihad Stadium during Saturday lunchtime's mouthwatering clash with Premier League leaders Chelsea.

After the whistlestop tour, Jesus will return to Brazil for Christmas with his family and will head back to Manchester for good in the new year.

It is understood that he is being readied for first-team action at City rather than a spell out on loan.

Palmeiras's league glory capped an incredible year for Jesus, who won an Olympic gold medal, scored five goals in his first six Brazil appearances and signed for City.
'It is going to crown the year that I am having,' Jesus said ahead of the 1-0 win over Chapecoense last Sunday that clinched the title. After the game he was seen wearing a pig mask in celebration - a nod to one of the club's mascots.
