Arsenal missed the chance to go top of the Premier League for at least 24 hours after they were beaten 2-1 by Everton at Goodison Park on Tuesday.
Arsene Wenger’s men took the lead after Alexis Sanchez’s free-kick deflected in off Ashley Williams. But the home team were level before the break after Seamus Coleman headed in Leighton Baines’ cross.
The Gunners missed a couple of chances to regain the lead, but it was Williams who redeemed himself, nodding in the winner for Ronald Koeman’s side.
Arsenal remains second with 34 points, three behind Chelsea who travels to Sunderland on Wednesday.
In the other game of the night, Bournemouth defeated champions Leicester City 1-0.
