According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the robbers, who had been terrorising Alafara area of Ibadan were arrested on November 7, by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The two suspects who were arrested alive were Ibrahim, 32 and Taiwo, 27 (surnames withheld), confessed to the crime.

Ajisebutu informed that “the robbery suspects who had been terrorising the area and other parts of the state, however, met their waterloo when they were shot by the local vigilante in the area.
“Though the hoodlums escaped the scene, two members of the gang- Ibrahim and Taiwo, were subsequently arrested at their hideout by the SARS of the command when they were arranging for a local doctor to treat an injured member, identified as Mofoof aka Murphy, who later died as a result of the injuries sustained during the encounter.
