Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme who missed the World Cup qualifier against Algeria in Uyo last week due to hip injury Is expected to return to his club, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC's training in two weeks time.
Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr, who disclosed this to Completesportsnigeria.com on Monday said that he has been in regular contact with Ikeme, adding that he celebrated the Eagles win by calling on the squad members to congratulate them.
"Ikeme is nearing full recovery and I can tell you that he will be returning to training in two weeks time, and hopefully, he will regain his place as number one goalkeeper of Wolverhampton wanderers as soon as possible, and get his form back," Rohr stated.
He said of Daniel Akpeyi who manned the posts in the Saturday's match against Algeria: "I am also impressed with Daniel Akpeyi who stood in for Ikeme. He did well, and I am happy with him."
