Chief Technical adviser of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr has revealed that Ifeanyi Ubah FC goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, won't be selected to start for the team against the Foxes of Algeria this weekend in Uyo, AkwaIbom.
Nigeria's first choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme has been ruled out of the 2018 World Cup qualifying clash due to injury, and it was thought Ezenwa will replace the Wolves goalkeeper in front of goal, but Rohr has now revealed he won't play Ezenwa because Ezenwa has not played his club side in six weeks saying he'll settle for other goalkeepers Daniel Akpeyi and Dele Alapasu.
"I am confident in all three goalkeepers in camp. Akpeyi is playing regularly and so too Alampasu. I attended the Federation Cup final to see Ezenwa play, but was disappointed he was not played. I’ve never seen him play a game live," Rohr told journalists.
"I maintain I cannot feature players who have stayed six weeks without action. It’s unfortunate but that’s how it is."
