Borno State | Nigeria Troops Kill 30 Terrorists In Failed Ambush

Troops attached to the 121 Task Force Battalion killed 30 terrorists suspected to be Boko Haram members on Saturday morning, according to a press statement released by the military.

According to the report, troops were escorting local government officials and travelers from Pulka to Maiduguri when militants ambushed the convoy. The terrorists fired shots at the troops and officials and detonated improvised explosive devices (IEDs), but the troops were able to successfully repel the attack.

Among those in the convoy was Saeed Salisu Sambo, caretaker committee chairman of the Gwoza Local Government Council, who disclosed that no troops or government officials were killed in the attack.
“I must commend the gallantry of the troops led by the duo Patrol Commanders of the 121BN, Captain S. Suleiman and Lt. N. Ayuba,” Mr. Sambo said.
Some troops sustained injuries and are currently being treated at Brigadier Maimalari Barracks Hospital.
