Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann has said he would like to either stay in La Liga or move to the Premier League if he leaves the Vicente Calderon in future.
Speaking to TF1’s Telefoot, the France international said that “for the moment, I am good at Atletico” but added that he wanted to start winning trophies.
But he said that would not be at either Real Madrid or Barcelona.
“I cannot go to Real — there is a pact between the two clubs that prohibits a transfer,” he said. “At Barca, there is no pact but their front three are indispensable.”
Griezmann, 25, stressed that moving on “is not necessarily one of my objectives” and said that although Paris Saint-Germain were an attractive proposition, Ligue 1 did not have the same allure as La Liga or the Premier League.
“PSG? It is an interesting possibility but Ligue 1 does not interest me for now,” Griezmann said. “I would prefer to stay in La Liga or go to the Premier League.”
Griezmann is one of the leading contenders for this year’s Ballon d’Or after helping Atletico to the 2016 Champions League final and inspiring France to the final of Euro 2016.
