Pep Guardiola demands perfection from Sergio Aguero

Despite Sergio Aguero's fine start to the season, perfectionist Pep Guardiola wants more from his Manchester City forward.

Aguero has made a strong start to life under Guardiola, scoring 11 goals in eight games for City this term.

Guardiola, though, insists the Argentina international can do better.

"When I speak about wanting more for Sergio is not because I am not happy, no that that is not true," Guardiola said ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Everton.
And after reflecting on his time under Johan Cruyff at Barcelona, Guardiola continued: "They [Barca] were never satisfied with my behaviour, never. So always push and push.
"Maybe I received something like that when I became a coach, so I am so glad.
"They can do better, I can do better, everybody can do better. I need to push that, they have to accept that."
Of Aguero and growing criticism in Argentina following his dip in international form, Guardiola added: "Emotionally he's fine, he’s very well. But you have to know, we are all criticised.
"An Argentine in Argentina, a Brazilian in Brazil, a Spaniard in Spain, the players across the world and the managers across the world.
"It can make you stronger, you can put up with it, or else you better find something else to do.
"It's not exclusive to Sergio, it's happening to Leo [Messi] too, with [Angel] Di Maria, it happens to Dani Alves in Brazil, to Neymar in Brazil, to Raz [Raheem Sterling] in England.
"When you play badly and you lose, they kill you."
