Arsene Wenger wants Iwobi to work more on his finishing ability

Arsene Wenger has described Alex Iwobi’s finishing ability as the only piece missing in his game following Tuesday’s league cup encounter.

The Nigerian was on from start to finish as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s brace fired a second string Arsenal 2-0 past Reading at the Emirates Stadium.

Iwobi, who played in a more natural No.10 position against Jaap Stam’s men impressed the Frenchman who wants to see more improvement in his goalscoring ability.
“You see, he is not a typical winger and I think he can play in that role. He turns the game forward, he passes the ball through the lines very well,” Wenger told club website.
“He has a final ball in him. He is now a little bit, I think he has it all in the locker to pass and give the final ball.
“What you want from him now is the finishing, you know. That’s still a little part that is missing in his game. I think he is too nervous at the moment when he has the possibility to finish.”
Arsenal travel to the Stadium of Light for a date against struggling Sunderland on Saturday, and the Super Eagles’ forward would be hoping to make his eighth English Premier League appearance this season – and hopefully get his first goal in the English topflight.
