Nasarawa State | Government set to shut down 700 Privately owned School

700 private schools are set to be shut down by the Nasarawa State government for being unable to meet the standard for the establishment.

The schools which are in the Karu Local Government Area of the state government are said to lack adequate facilities and conducive environments to teaching and learning.

Mr. Salihu Iliyasu, who is the Secretary of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools in Karu, said that out of 1,300 private schools in the LGA, only 600 were granted formal approval by the state government to operate.
“About 15 proprietors have been denied approval,” he stated.
He stated that the other 700 private schools stood the risk of being shut by the state government for failing in required standards to operate, and lacking adequate facilities.
