Jose Mourinho dropped skipper Wayne Rooney and Manchester United turned on the style, racing to a 4-0 lead at half-time.
Manchester United was looking to avoid a third straight Premier League defeat and there was no chance of that happening, as they blitzed champions Leicester in a stunning 20-minute spell with four goals.
Chris Smalling, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba scored the goals that put the game out of sight and fully vindicated Mourinho’s decision to bench Rooney.
Substitute Demarai Gray pulled a goal back for Leicester with a stunning angled long-range strike, but it was too little, too late for the ailing Foxes.
