Nigeria duo of Alex Iwobi and Iheanacho has been shortlisted for the prestigious Golden Boy Award. The Award is given by sports journalists to a young football player playing in Europe perceived to have been the most impressive during a calendar year and the nominees must be under the age of 21 and play in a European nation's top tier.
20-year-old, Alex Iwobi was nominated after breaking into the Gunners first team last term while is compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho was nominated after he burst onto the scene at the Etihad in the last 12 months, seeing off Wilfried Bony to become backup to Sergio Aguero.
Other players nominated from England are Manchester United striker, Marcus Rashford, Dele Alli, Alex Iwobi, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Marko Grujic , Kelechi Iheanacho, Leroy Sane and Demarai Gray.
They will be competing against some of the continent's most prodigious talents, including: AC Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma, Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele and Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman and Renato Sanches.
More Premier League interest comes from Chelsea loanees Andreas Christensen and Nathan - starring for Vitesse and Borussia Monchengladbach - and Manchester City loanee Olivier Ntcham currently with Genoa.
