#EdoDecides: This must not be another inconclusive election – I Go Dye to Buhari

Renowned comedian, born Francis Agoda, popularly known as I Go Dye, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to endeavor to make the governorship election in Edo state conclusive.

It would be recalled that the INEC had generated reactions from Nigerians after it explained why it has continued to conduct inconclusive elections .

It had further noted that the concept of inconclusive election was that every polling unit must be accounted for, adding that that elections in Nigeria had become “too tight and keenly contested”, such that the commission could no longer declare anybody winner when result from even a single polling unit was cancelled.

But the veteran comedian, while reacting to this, said the declaration of election as inconclusive should never be the case here (Edo elections).

In an open letter addressed to the President through the Vice President, Yemi Osibajo, the Delta State-born wrote: “Pls tell Mr. President that, Edo state Elections is completed, the onus now falls on INEC under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari to do the needful by not being partisan and release the results in tandem with how the people voted.
“The world is watching and the electoral umpire is being tested yet again.
“This must not be another inconclusive election. Never.”

Recall that few weeks before the election, I Go Dye had advised youths and the electorates in Edo state to be vigilant during the gubernatorial election.
