Tough times have brought out the best in the People of Adamawa State – Atiku

Former Vice President and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Atiku Abubakar, restated his commitment to the development of his home state, Adamawa, especially as it recovers from the effects of Boko Haram terrorism.

In a statement released to mark the 25th anniversary of the creation of Adamawa State, Abubakar hailed the efforts of the federal and state governments, international organisations and especially the AUN-Adamawa Peace Initiative to ensure that life returned to normal for many citizens of the state who were directly affected by the Boko Haram insurgency.

“We have been through tough times, but the tough times have brought out the best in us,” Abubakar said.
“We have seen the government and other organisations stretch themselves beyond what we imagined they could achieve and, today, the peace and progress in Adamawa is a testimony to their hard work.”
The Turaki Adamawa assured the state government, the AUN-API and other organisations working for the betterment of life in Adamawa State that they would always have his full support.

He expressed his personal commitment to the peace and progress of the entire Nigeria, but added that charity must begin at home.
“I still aim to surpass every contribution I have made to Adamawa and to Nigeria so far,” he said.
“When it comes to the development of state and country, this is certainly not a time to rest on our laurels.”
