Singer Ciara to judge Miss America pageant in 2017

30-year-old Singer Ciara will be a judge on the Miss America beauty pageant in 2017, Entertainment Weekly is reporting.

The "1, 2 Step" artist joins a star-studded and eclectic panel that also includes Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, fan-favorite Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas, country star Cole Swindell and actresses Laura Marano and Sara Foster.

The annual contest will be hosted by ESPN broadcaster Sage Steele and former "The Bachelor" star Chris Harrison.

The judging position is merely the latest undertaking by Ciara outside of the music-making industry in recent years.

The artist, who rose to fame in the early 2000s, appeared in the Adam Sandler comedy "That's My Boy" in 2012, and she also starred in the musical drama "Mama I Want to Sing" that year.
