Portuguese superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered a new contract at the Bernabeu.
Spain’s AS reports that Ronaldo’s Real Madrid contract will officially be renewed this month, once player and club representatives have met in person.
Though Ronaldo’s €21 million a year wage did not change, a four-year extension which will keep him in the club till either 2020 or 2021 has been made.
The Portuguese superstar would be 36 at the expiration of his new contract at the club.
AS reports that the 31-year-old is still on holiday after Euro 2016, but has talked the contract over the phone with club President, Florentino Perez.
The Euro 2016 winner along with his agent, Jorge Mendes will be expected to meet with Perez when Ronaldo returns to training on August 10.
Ronaldo had said earlier, “I’m going to retire at Madrid when I’m over 40. I’m very happy here and I’m working hard to achieve this objective.”
