An incredibly romantic public proposal has backfired for the two lovebirds and divided a nation.Huang Yang asked her girlfriend Xiaoyu Wang to marry her at their university graduation ceremony. The elated couple hoped their same-sex betrothal would help break down barriers in ultra- conservative China.
Wang Xiaoyu said: “That [proposing on graduation day] is a tradition here.”But not if you are a lesbian .”After photos of our proposal went viral, party officials at the university threatened to withhold my diploma.”
The college top brass told the stunned students to “keep your homosexuality to yourselves and don’t pester others”.
Wang added: “They outed me to my parents and had the police break into my apartment to collect personal notes as evidence.”
The scholar, with the help of LGBT groups, has now started a campaign against their treatment.
Tens of thousands of people have signed a petition calling on the university to apologise.

This is a bad one and is nice as the university have taken the actio so serious, it will serve as warning to other lesbians planning on doing same
