Niger Delta Avengers have disowned a list purportedly issued by some members of the group, claiming that ex-President Goodluck Jonathan is one of their sponsors.
The list, issued by a certain Cynthia White on Sunday, also named other alleged sponsors as Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike; ex-Peoples Democratic Party spokesman, Olisa Metuh; erstwhile Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Safety and Administration Agency, Patrick Akpobolokemi; former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio; and ex-military commander, Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo.
However, NDA in a statement by its spokesman, Murdoch Agbinibo, on Sunday said the group was intact and no member had broken away.
It disowned the list, saying it was compiled by a former commander of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, Victor Ebikabowei-Ben aka Boyloaf and distributed to the media by one George Kerley hiding under the Cynthia White alias.
The group also named some other Niger Delta personalities whom it said had been engaged in criminal activities and deceived the Federal Government into believing that they were in genuine dialogue with NDA.
