A bomb blast just outside a police headquarters in Turkey has left at least eleven police officers dead. A car bomb was detonated at a checkpoint leading to the entrance of the headquarters after the suicide bombers were unable to gain access.
The incident occurred in Cizre, Southeastern Turkey and most of the casualties are policemen. 78 people were confirmed injured in Friday’s attack.
The Kurdistan’s Workers Party (PKK) has claimed responsibility for Friday’s bombing and said in a statement, “Our sacrifice team staged a comprehensive action action in Cizre that left dozens of police dead,”
It is the latest in a series of deadly bombings in Turkey this year.
