Adamawa State | Hired assassins kill middle-aged woman in Yola

Hired suspected assassins have killed a middle-aged woman, Mrs. Amina Dauji of Unguwan T.C in Yola town of Yola South local government area in Adamawa State.

The deceased was said to have been murdered at her residence by the assailants while asleep.

According to the village head of Bole, Alhaji Abdulmumini, Bakari Bole, “the assassins confessed that they were hired at the cost of N20,000 to eliminate the life of Amina whom their sponsors accused of witchcraft, a proof that has not been established”.

Already, “one of the culprits has been arrested by our vigilante group member and we have handed him to the police, while investigations are ongoing. We are trailing the accomplices for them to face prosecution” he said.

The village head called on the authorities concerned to ensure that the culprits were punished based on the gravity of their offence to serve as a deterrent to others who have a similar mind set.

Alhaji Abdulmumini enjoined youths to enroll in schools for them to acquire skills and knowledge to enable them contribute meaningfully to their familyies so that they can be relevant in the society.

He added that they can equally engage in farming activities and not allow themselves to be lured in committing offence with paltry sums of money.

“We have vast land, which you can partake in farming, since Lamido Adamawa, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo, Aliyu Musdafa are assisting young ones with farm implements” he added.

The village head also called on parents to monitor the movements of their children to prevent them from associating with bad eggs in the society.
