Suspect Reveals Why Muslim Youths Attacked Church For Holding Service On Friday

The men of the Nigerian Police have nabbed 18 year old Abba Usman for alleged participation in the vandalisation and attack carried out on a church in Niger state on July 15, 2016.

Recall that some Muslim youths reported to be about 200 in number had attacked St. Philips Catholic Church in Suleja, Niger State

The arrested suspect however confessed that himself along with his group attacked the church and its members for playing loud music which was disturbing their Juma’at service which was holding at about the same time.
Usman narrated: “We went to the church to teach them a bitter lesson so that they will never disturb the peace of the mosque again, especially on a Friday when we are having a prayer”.
He continued: “They have the whole of Sunday to themselves and we have never disturbed them from doing their own programmes.
“We all entered the church and vandalised some of their property, while we took some of their musical instruments and other valuables. I went for two of the microphones with the aim of selling them, but I was not lucky as I was caught with them”.
