Stephen Keshi’s son slam FG for snubbing late coach’s burial

Former captain of the Super Eagles, Austin Eguavoen, has criticized the government after top officials stayed away from the final burial rites of former Nigeria coach, Stephen Keshi.

Keshi’s family held a Church Service on Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Benin by 9am, to pay the Big Boss his final respects.

But Eguavoen was not impressed by the absence of some notable dignitaries.

“I am not shocked by the way the government has treated this event,” Eguavoen said.
“For instance, most of us have yet to get the houses the government promised us when we won the Nations Cup in 1994.
“You are only energized when you have been looked after.
“One keeps wondering if Nigeria is worth fighting for or even dying for?”
Keshi’s son, Femi, also blasted the government, for failing to keep their promises to the family.
“The federal government did not deliver on the promises they made to us as regards our father’s burial,” Keshi Jr. said.
