The Inspector-General of Police, Acting IG Ibrahim Idris, in continuation of his visit to security agencies, yesterday paid a working visit to the Director General, Department of State Services, Abuja.
Speaking in the office of the Director General, IGP Ibrahim Idris said the aim of the visit was to seek the cooperation and collaboration of the Directorate of State Services in tackling the security challenges facing the country.
He said it is only through synergy that security agencies can overcome the current security challenges, and it was necessary for the Nigeria Police under his watch to initiate this partnership drive, since the constitution of the country vests the security of lives and property in the Force.
Responding, the Director General, DSS, Mr. Lawal Musa Daura said he was grateful with the visit, assuring the Ag. IGP that the Department of State Services will give maximum support and cooperation to the drive of the IGP in crushing criminals nationwide.
He further said this cooperation is incumbent on the DSS, because they have historical link with the Nigeria Police, observing that the country is expecting more from the IGP, having seen his track record in policing that span within Nigeria and abroad.
