Gunmen on Monday shot and killed Mr Lawrence Agaie, the Saf Ron-Kuelere and paramount ruler of Bokkos in Plateau.
Also killed were the traditional ruler’s police orderly, Insp. Sunday Wuyah, his wife, as well as his son, Shagari.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), gathered from a family source that the monarch was returning to Bokkos, after visiting his farm in Sha District, when he was attacked.
Capt. Ikedichi Iweha, spokesman of the Special Task Force (STF) in charge of security in Plateau, confirmed the incident, adding that the corpses had been deposited at an undisclosed hospital in Jos.
He also said that a woman who was shot, but did not die, had been taken to a hospital in Bokkos.
