The Flying Eagles have vowed to defeat Sudan over two legs and qualify for the 2017 Africa U-20 Nations Cup in Zambia.
Emmanuel Amuneke and his boys will depart for Khartoum on Thursday for the first leg of the qualifying fixture.
“We are fired up for the game against Sudan and nothing will stop us from making it to Zambia,” the team’s goalkeeper, Akpan Udoh told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“The friendlies we have played have really prepared us for the game, and it will be disappointing if we don’t pick the ticket at the end of the day.”
Nigeria, who are the current African champions, beat Burundi home and away in the previous round and Funsho Bamgboye wants to achieve that feat again.
“We are not going to Sudan to play for a draw, but rather to win and make things easy in the second leg,” he said.
“The Burundians put up a good fight against us in the previous round and we don’t want to take things for granted against Sudan.
“We have worked so hard to get to this stage and don’t want to throw everything away by failing to qualify for the Africa Championship.”
