See List of Military Officers on Compulsorily Retirement Including Jonathan and Dasuki Aides


Yesterday the Nigeria Army announce some list of officers that would be going on compulsory retirement.

The reasons given were corruption and partisanship. The officers retired have corruption allegations from the past election hanging over their heads with some already under investigation.

According to thecable, Included on the list of those retired were Nicholas Achinze, a colonel and former military assistant to Sambo Dasuki, a retired colonel and also Ojogbane Adegbe, a colonel and former ADC to Jonathan.


The statement retiring the officers released by Army spokesman, Sani Usman, read in part, “It should be recalled that not too long ago some officers were investigated for being partisan during the 2015 general election,” he said.
“Similarly, the investigation by the Presidential Committee investigating defence contracts revealed a lot. Some officers have already been arraigned in court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).‎”
